Introduction

Globalisation or globalization is the way in which our world has become more integrated, or joined up. It is about economics and trade, science and technology, politics and culture. We now share each other's cultures and language through travel and trade, and science and technology. We are in a huge global economy where local or national ways of doing things have become international (global), and something that happens in one area can have knock on effects worldwide. People, governments, economies and countries are more dependent on each other today than they ever have been in the past.

What is globalisation

The websites below will help you understand what globalisation is, and how it has come about.

  • If a video won't play, you can find a transcript underneath.

Tips: Search words, or keywords, are the most important words in our question. You can leave out small words like ‘the’ and ‘of’ and just choose the main ones eg 'globalisation'. You can also think of other spellings eg 'globalization' for American websites.
