Leadership

Where can I find information about leaders and leadership?

Entry last updated: 4/10/22

Introduction

Leadership is about working with other people so that you can achieve a goal. Different groups need different types of leaders. You might be a leader yourself, or you might be in a team where you support a leader.

Common leadership skills include:

  • communication skills - how you share messages with people.
  • interpersonal skills - how you interact with others.
  • self-management skills - how you do all the things you need to do in an appropriate way.

Leadership qualities

A leader is someone who helps others to achieve a particular goal. Leadership looks different depending on the group of people they are working with. A person can be a leader at a local, national, or international level - a football captain, a Prime Minister and the Pope are all leaders, and all work with people to achieve goals, but the jobs they do are very different.
